Making Partners Possible: DBC Continues to Partner with Schools

December 22, 2016

The DBC team never lets the year pass by without actively finding ways to collaborate with different educational institutions to channel their deserving advocacy. From December 6 to 15 2016, the team personally met and greeted school administrators in order to share the good news of DBC's rising initiative to combat job skills mismatch in Iloilo. The company's campaign will always start from educational institutions where the young are molded to become effective citizens and productive workforce of the country.

DBC is grateful to six (6) educational institutions namely Colegio del Sagrado Corazon de Jesus, Iloilo Doctors College, University of Iloilo - Phinma, West Visayas State University, University of the Philippines Visayas, and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for giving them the opportunity to campaign and share the advocacy of the company.

Mr. Allen Son Tan, DBC President, and Ms. Aulynn Yue Sin, DBC Program Director, personally visited the administrators to offer a hand of cooperation and possible collaboration to help their students achieve their desired careers in the future. “We are all one in our goal to make Iloilo the happiest place in the Philippines. We will start with the young” said Mr. Allen Son Tan in one of his presentations for the academe.

Mr. Tan, in his DBC presentation, emphasized the importance of motivating students as an effective tool to boost their confidence and foster their interests to engage in their desired careers when they graduate. All administrators agreed with Mr. Tan's vision of molding the young and the academe as the venue to start building our young people's future. They are the future of industry workforce and DBC aims to help them achieve their dreams.

All academic institutions visited were excited to collaborate with DBC. They all agreed and commended the unique activities that DBC will offer to their students especially the upcoming Dreamers Camp and industry tours. These activities will purposely guide students in their desired careers when they finish schooling, thus giving them an opportunity for a happy life in their chosen field.

This is the right time that industries and academic institutions will collaborate in order to give a meaningful direction to education’s primary goal – to give each person a good life. In 2017, DBC will still continue to collaborate with different academic institutions as well as industries in Western Visayas that will partner with them in this worthy endeavor. Through the collaboration of industry and academe, with the help of DBC, a good and happy life for our young people is possible.
