Because of the overwhelming response of the companies who generously participated in the fight against job and skills mismatch we finally hit the ground running by way of launching the first major project of DBC, DREAMERS CAMP, last May 23, 2016 at Iloilo Convention Center.
The event was gracefully attended by Mr. Brian Levey, Director, Office of Education, United States Agency for International Development (USAID) as Keynote Speaker and Mr. Jonathan Palma, President and CEO of Bibby Ship Management Philippines. The presence of our guests and participants from the industries, academe, parents and students heightened the event.
Dreamers Camp aimed to guide the students on their desired career and expose them to different work environments and improve the school performance by enhancing the awareness and values of the students. Furthermore, it will stimulate the interest of the students toward a career path they want to pursue and provide information or opportunities that will help them achieve their dreams. It is a five-day activity started May 23 until May 27, 2016.
Thirty one participating companies opened their doors to one hundred students coming from University of San Agustin, Central Philippine University and Iloilo Science and Technology University during the four-day industry tour.
